Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MinderCart collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the MinderCart website, web application, private-beta application form, and related support.

Effective date:

Privacy at a glance

Your lists are yours

MinderCart uses your shopping information to provide the app and its features.

Local and cloud storage

Some information can stay in your browser. When you sign in, supported information may be synchronized through Firebase.

No sale or targeted advertising

MinderCart does not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the MinderCart website, the MinderCart web application, the private-beta landing page, the beta application form, and communications with MinderCart support.

For purposes of this policy, “MinderCart,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the MinderCart service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide, information created through your use of MinderCart, and limited technical information processed by the services that operate the app.

  • Account information, such as your email address and authentication identifiers when you create an account or sign in.
  • Shopping content, such as items, quantities, units, stores, optional notes, reusable lists, active shopping lists, purchase history, custom items, and related list settings.
  • Preferences, such as language, preferred store, and text-size settings.
  • Group and sharing information, such as group membership, invitations, and the content shared within a group when those features are used.
  • Support communications, including the information you send when contacting us.
  • Private-beta application information, such as name, email, preferred language, device type, shopping frequency, household size, current list-making methods, and feedback.
  • Technical information that may be processed by our hosting and service providers, such as browser type, device type, IP address, timestamps, error information, and basic request or security logs.

3. Browser storage and guest use

MinderCart uses browser storage, including localStorage, to keep app state and preferences on your device. This can include your lists, shopping history, settings, saved lists, onboarding status, and pending synchronization data.

You may use certain features without signing in. In that case, information generally remains in the browser on that device unless you later sign in and the app performs an available migration or synchronization.

Clearing browser data, using private-browsing mode, changing devices, or uninstalling a browser can remove locally stored information.

4. Account and cloud synchronization

When you sign in, MinderCart uses Google Firebase services for authentication and supported cloud synchronization. Depending on the feature, account identifiers, app state, saved lists, settings, group information, and pending synchronization data may be processed through Firebase.

Passwords and sign-in credentials are handled by the authentication provider. MinderCart does not receive your password in plain text.

Cloud synchronization is intended to help restore and use supported information across sessions or devices. During the private beta, some simultaneous multi-device conflict scenarios are still being tested.

5. Private-beta application form

The private-beta application is hosted with Google Forms. Information you submit is received in the MinderCart form and may also be stored in a linked Google Sheet used to review applications and administer the beta.

Submitting the form does not guarantee acceptance into the beta. We use the responses to select a balanced test group, communicate with applicants, understand shopping habits, and improve MinderCart.

6. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve MinderCart.
  • Authenticate users and synchronize supported information.
  • Create, display, reuse, and organize shopping lists and purchase history.
  • Enable group and shared-list features when selected by the user.
  • Provide support and respond to questions or privacy requests.
  • Select, communicate with, and learn from private-beta participants.
  • Protect the service, investigate errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

7. When information is shared

We do not currently sell personal information, rent it to data brokers, or use it for targeted advertising.

Information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers that help operate MinderCart, including Google Firebase for authentication and cloud services, Google Forms and Google Sheets for the beta application, and our website hosting provider.
  • With members of a group or shared list when you choose to use sharing features. Those people may be able to view or modify shared content according to the available functionality.
  • When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, users, or the service.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate notice and protections.

8. Data retention

Locally stored information generally remains on the device until you remove it through the app, clear browser storage, or the browser removes it.

Cloud information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain the account, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.

Beta application and feedback information is retained as needed to administer the beta, communicate with applicants, analyze results, and improve MinderCart. We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

Backup copies and security logs may remain for a limited period after deletion because of routine backup, fraud-prevention, or legal processes.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, and to appeal a denied privacy request.

MinderCart does not currently sell personal information or process it for targeted advertising. Therefore, there is currently no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to activate.

  • Update supported preferences and list content directly in the app.
  • Delete individual lists, items, or history through available app controls.
  • Clear local browser data to remove information stored only on that device.
  • Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of account-related information.
  • Unsubscribe from nonessential beta communications by replying to the message or contacting support.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. We also rely on established service providers for authentication, hosting, form collection, and cloud infrastructure.

No online service or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential, use a secure device, and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

11. International processing

MinderCart and its service providers may process information in the United States and in other locations where those providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

12. Children

MinderCart is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

13. Third-party services

MinderCart relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase, Google Forms, Google Sheets, and website-hosting infrastructure. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Links to third-party websites or services are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, not this policy.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MinderCart changes. We will post the revised policy and update the effective date. When required, we will provide additional notice.
